Norcold Owners…

A FWIW- Norcold has launched a campaign to register all of its refrigerators. I’m not sure of the reason, but both Norcold and Dometic have become quite strict about having the VIN numbers for rigs their products are installed in- Norcold will not even give tech advice unless they have the refrigerators serial numbers(s) and the rig make, model, year and VIN number.

They are having a sweepstakes to entice people to register- this is not limited to original owners, it is meant for anyone with a rig that has a Norcold refrigerator.

Visit the Norcold website for more information.

  4. We own a 2008 Cameo 5th wheel with a Norcold 1095 frig. Lately, with the temp setting on 1, the frig freezes our food. Then a message appears “no co”, which I later learned means “no cool”. On the internet I also learned how to reset the outside control unit to get the frig again working, but 12 hours later “no co” again shows. Our RV dealer replaced the outside unit and said should work fine now. 12 hours later frig had shut down and was displaying “no co”. I called dealer and they have sent me a new Thermistor and I have replaced this and am now waiting to see if this works. In looking at the electric skeematics I have noticed the unit is equiped with a cooling fan. I have only heard this fan run twice. Should this fan be running more to keep the expansion coils cool?

Any advice you can provide would certainly be helpful.

    Thank You!

  6. Hi Terry,
I would bet on the thermistor, though the circuit board should have detected a bad one, but it provides the board with the temperature, and it sounds like it isn’t sensing the cooect temp, which causes both the freezing and the noco error.
The fans should only run when they are needed- they are on a 130 degree switch, so they will just run when it is hot out and the unit is cooling.

  8. Chris,

Thank you for your reply. I have
watched the frig. and now the
temp stays at 40 and “no co’
    has not reappeared.

    Thanks Again.

  10. I have a 2001 monaco le 40′. We have a two door fridge w/ ice maker. It is under recall and the dealer here in maryland says it is a 4 hr job to replace the thermo couple. Is this true or is there a shorter way other than taking the whole fridge out. Thanks.
